Field Director - Patrick van Keerbergen
Patrick van Keerbergen is an experienced political organizer with close to a decade of experience in New York City and State government and politics. He has worked for DFER since March 2009 as our National Field Director.
In 2009, Patrick served as the Manhattan field director for Mayor Michael Bloomberg's successful reelection campaign. In this role he oversaw a robust field campaign, that resulted in close to 160,000 votes for the Mayor's reelection.
Patrick has experience in both State and City government, having worked in the New York State Assembly and New York City Council. Most recently he served as Chief of Staff to Assembly Member Brian Kavanagh from 2008 to 2009. In the Assemblymember's office he oversaw constituent affairs and the member's ambitious legislative and budgetary agendas.
Prior to joining the Assemblymember's office, Patrick served as the State Political Campaign Coordinator for the Working Families Party (WFP) from 2006 to 2008. At the WFP, he helped direct campaigns for offices ranging from County Legislator to United States Congress Member.
Patrick has worked on dozens of field campaigns. In addition to many local races, he has worked on three campaigns for New York City Mayor and two Presidential elections. Patrick attended New York University where he majored in US History.
